CVS 5/21/12

Another day, another trip.  I decided to walk over to the CVS across from my work during my lunch hour to see if they had any of the items the other CVS did not have yesterday.  I did manage to find about half of my list, so not bad!

Transaction 1:
(2) Pantene @ 3.49
      -BOGO MQ
(1) Salonpas heating back pad @ 1.87
(2) Crest mouthwash travel size BOGO 50% off @ .99
-(2) $1/1 any mouthwash from CRT machine
less $4 ECB from yesterday

OOP = $.83 plus tax and I got back $1 from the pantene and $1.87 from the salonpas.

Total profit of $2.02!!! However, my CVS spending power went from $9 down to $7.87, but if I have done my calculations correctly, I should be about $4.00 away from a $5 ECB from the Beauty Club.

Koolaid Pickles

Yup, you heard me right, Koolaid pickles! I love pickles, and when I saw this on the Food Network one day, I knew I had to try them. Yum Yum Yum!

Ingredients:
(2) 24 oz jars of pickles (or 1-48 oz jar!)
(2) packets of kool-aid flavor of choice
(2) cups of warm water
(1) cup of sugar
Mix the water, sugar and kool-aid together in a measuring cup until dissolved.  Drain pickle juice.
Add mixture to the now liquid-less pickles jars, cover, and store in refrigerator.  Wait at least 24 hours (I know...I like instant gratification too, but the wait is worth it!).
And enjoy! Some people will freeze them too (just don't freeze the glass containers) for a yummy summer treat.

CVS 5/20/2012

Well, I headed off to CVS with such a great battle plan.  But, you know what they say about good intentions! I still managed to do alright, though.  I'll explain what happened after the breakdown, I only needed one transaction today.

Transaction 1:
(4) Suave Naturals body lotion @ 3.00
      -(2) BOGO MQ's
(1) Irish Spring body wash @ 3.50
(1) Irish Spring deoderant @3.50
     -$1/1 MQ
-$1.50/1 CVS coupon from the magic coupon machine from a few weeks ago
(2) Aquafresh toothpaste @ 2.49
     -(2) $1/1 MQ'S
-$1/1 CVS coupon printed from their website
less a $10 ECB earned last week

Total OOP = $2.48 plus tax, and I earned $4 from the Suave, $4 from the Irish Spring and $1 green bag tag.

Total Profit $6.52!!!

Now, I had a few other items on my list, but of course the store I went to either did not carry these items or they are out of stock. I could have asked for some rain checks, but did not care enough to ask.  Also the extremely rude cashier (she let 4 people in line wait while she was fiddling around behind the registers) threw a coupon back at me and told me I could not use 2 CVS coupons for the same item. I have never heard this before, maybe she is right, but the attitude was unnecessary. Oh well, you win some, you loose some!

I just LOVE making money to take product off of the shelves!  I went to Rite Aid after work today to purchase the Visine eye drops that are on sale. Here is how my transactions broke down:

Transaction 1:
(1) Visine Allergy Relief Eye Drops $5.29
-$0.53 w/ my 10% discount
-$1.00 +UP reward
-$1.00 VV
-$2.00 MQ
= $0.76 plus tax
and I received $3.00 +UP and $1 OYNO catalina

Transaction 2:
(1) Visine Allergy Relief Eye Drops $5.29
-$0.53 w/ my 10% discount
-$3.00 +UP reward from Transaction 1
-$2.00 MQ (had to be adjusted for overage)
= $0.00
and I received $3.00 +UP and $1 OYNO catalina

So i spent $0.81 OOP and have $5.00 left to spend at Rite Aid!! Now that is a successful shopping trip!
